Charlie's surfing career started the way a lot of good stories do — with a camping trip to the beach. His humans, Maria and Jeff Nieboer, pushed Charlie around on small waves as a puppy, and it didn't take long before Charlie was the one dragging the board into the water himself. Since then, he's made finals in his very first competitions and racked up first-place finishes for causes benefiting animal shelters, all while showing his younger surf sibling the ropes. On land, Charlie's a certified couch potato — but the second his paws hit sand, it's game on.
