The spaniel siblings, raised by Don and Connie Horn, built their whole surf career on doing it together — Samson holding down the back of the board, Delilah working the nose, riding as one unit wave after wave for the better part of two decades. From Surf City Surf Dog to Imperial Beach to the World Dog Surfing Championships in Pacifica, the Horns hauled their pair up and down the California coast chasing heats, medaling in tandem competition again and again.Samson officially retired at fourteen to a well-earned round of applause, with Delilah still catching waves solo and in tandem years after. Their partnership earned the sport's respect long before it earned them medals — a reminder that the best rides are usually the ones you share. Samson was later honored with a Surf Dog Emeritus Award in recognition of a career built entirely on teamwork.
